Miami to win the AFC at 6-1 odds. Good luck to one and all.

Funny.

I just played Miami 13/1 to win it all.
The offense needs to go more vertical, but I think Wannstedt can get it done this time around.

Good Luck,
Space.

Unlike PPETER,s wagers, there is no value in either of these bets.

I'd have to agree with that wager Lou, Miami IMO is the best team in that division. Lucas is the only reason their season went down the tubes last year. This year they have a nice backup in Griese, and Seau on defense will make a solid defense even stronger.

New to the forum...But I do have a nice history with Futures.
Been doing Futures for over 20 years and been rolling along the past few years.
Some of you know of my previous successes.
PATRIOTS @ 80-1 & 40-1
RAVENS @ 60-1 & 30-1
ANGELS @ 100-1 & 50-1
NETS @ 40-1
DEVILS @ 6-1 & 15-1
NETS @ 6-1
______________________________________________

Whats everyones thoughts on this year?
OVER/UNDERS ???
NFC
AFC
SUPERBOWL

Nows the time to get some nice odds b-4 the lines start shrinking.

Here is a start...

Loving KC at 30-1 and 15-1
New Orleans at 66-1 at Olympic
(even if they dont win, worth the odds, the NFC is only at 16-1)
Lions at 250-1 (heart not head)

Loving over on KC over 8.0 and
Detroit over 5.5 in wins
Any thoughts on Ravens on Over 7.5 wins ??

Some other small plays earlier this summer.

Seattle at 30-1 and 60-1
Ravens at 50-1 and 25-1
San Diego at 50-1 and 25-1
Rams at 16-1 and 8-1
Falcons at 12-1
I do like Miami, although getting only 14-1 and 6-1 is not always worth the wager.

Just thought I would let some of you know my thoughts. GL to everyone.

Hey BigLou - do you really think Wanstadt can take it all?
I think I smell a QB controversy brewing in Sweat City - can the Phish win with the Media doing everything they can to create sideline dissension between Griese, Fiedler and Wanstadt. I doubt it.

Good luck!

Hey, was Wanstadt on that coaches list of possible SB coaches you concocted a few months ago?

What do you guys think about the Cleveland Browns UNDER 8.5 wins for this season?

Lou

I hate to tell you, but I made that bet at Olympic on May 3rd at 10-1. I got Philadelphia to win the NFC at 8.5 to 1.

I didn't start looking at futures until recently so I admit it's not the best number but there is no doubt Miami has the best defense in the AFC right now. Good luck to you.

Hmmmm! As we get into pre-season I was planning to do an analysis on the Pats - Off, def, spec teams, depth, etc.
I'm not making any claims, I'm a fan and my point of view could be biased (although I work hard at keeping my rationalizations in check), but you might want to take a more detailed look at what Belichek has done to their defense for the upcoming season - adding Colvin and Harris, going to the 3/4, and a few other points which might have you looking at the AFC a little differently.

I see a dogfight for the top position, with the Bills and Jets falling off of last years highs - (how well Bledsoe does will determine who's in the cellar).

Good luck!

Took the Lions at 38:1 to win the division. Not exactly a powerhouse division.

If Seau comes in and makes an immediate impact, watch out, this team could be scary.

mgspooky I was on a few of those gems as well. Futures are clearly the best value for sports wagering. Unfortunately lines have moved dramaticaly since first being posted. I'm on the Bengals to win the AFC North at 40 to 1 for $1000 of the house's money from the NBA season, (missed em at 68 to 1). I'm down with the Eagles at 8.5 to win the SB, they are my team. I like Buffalo at 36 to 1, New England at 31 to 1, and New Orleans at 50 to 1. Watch where you play cause odds differ dramatically.

megladon, I respect your choices of course, but of all the numerous football futures, you chose the Bengals?!

I like long~shots often also, but there just simply isnt any talent there on that team. Their best player on the team is probably a rookie QB who will be sitting the bench. I like your choices of New England, which I feel will make a strong comeback this year after the dropoff season after winning Super Bowl, and New Orleans as well is good value at 50-1.

Hache there is talent in cincy, many diamonds in the rough. Dillon is real hungry with something to prove after hitting rock bottom last year. Chad Johnson can make big plays. Warrick may finally do something now that he's figured out the pro game. Kitna may post solid numbers in his second year this time without all the controversy if they bring Palmer along slowly (look what happened to akilli when they threw him to the wolves). Best of all Marvin Lewis will get these guys to play beyond their potential, especially on the defense side of the ball. I think it could be a 9-7 division if pitt and clev fall off. The value is there at 40 to 1 compared to pitt and that sorry secondary. Clev has issues on D and Balt has issues on O. Anything can happen in the NFL particularly in a 4 horse division race; last year the Jets were 100 to 1 to win the afc east after week 4 and a 0-4 start, look what happened.

I respect you Lou, but as a long time Bear fan I do not believe that Mr. Wannstedt has the leadership capabilities to get his team to the final game. I believe he is an excellent defensive coordinator that will never rise to the top as a head coach. The addition of Norv Turner last year was a great move for the Phins. He helps round out the coaching staff but not enough to overcome Wannstedt's overall coaching deficiencies.

With that being said, I believe Belichick is cut from the same mold and he finally got the job done. So I may be wrong, but personally have no confidence in the man.

Best of luck.

Mosi: As a fellow Bear fan, you are 100% correct. Wanni had a top-5 defense and the best RB last year and couldn't make the playoffs. Now he adds an over-the-hill Seau (who I'm a fan of), and needs the D and Williams to repeat their 2002 performances. I don't see it.

Wanni - great D coordinator, bad head coach.
